Scams over the phone are nothing new, but, in the current climate, they are being adapted. Criminals are exploiting the need to keep ourselves safe and take protective measures during the COVID19 pandemic so are reinventing their scams to use Coronavirus as a hook.
Any unsolicited phones calls should be treated with extreme caution, and if they’re asking for payment details it’s highly likely to be a scam.

That's the message from the Wiltshire and Swindon Local Resilience Forum (LRF), as people are urged to stay at home and avoid unnecessary travel over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
With sunny weather forecast and people heading into the third weekend of the Government's restrictions, the advice to the public is clear.
Everyone must do their bit to help protect the NHS and save lives.
Chair of Wiltshire and Swindon LRF Chief Constable Kier Pritchard said the vast majority of people across the county were adhering to the Government's advice, but an extra effort was needed to keep people safe over Easter.

THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that on 6th April 2020, the following length of road shall be closed to all traffic in the interests of public safety to enable Network Rail to carry out bridge repair works requiring the road to be shut for safety reasons.. Yesterday the Home Office announced that the charge for calling the police non-emergency number is to be scrapped from today.
The Home Office will spend £7 million a year to meet the connection costs. At present, the telephony provider charges 101 callers a 15p connection fee.
