Keep your Christmas, Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping safe
Whether it’s getting the Christmas list ticked off, that last minute gift for someone special or a treat for ourselves, most of us will be buying more online this festive season.
It’s fantastic being able to take advantage of the convenience, choice and value brought by the internet, but unfortunately it is also a favourite haunt of fraudsters, vying to take advantage of the fact that you have so many distractions in the lead-up to Christmas.
That why it’s especially important to safeguard yourself, your family and finances when you’re buying online on Black Friday, Cyber Monday or any other day. Attached is our latest Get Safe Online leaflet providing top online shopping tips, but if you want to find out more you can always visit our website at www.getsafeonline.org
A Christmas Bazaar is taking place at the Peace Memorial Hall on Saturday 18th December from 10.00am to 2.30pm.

The Trustees of the Daubeny Almshouse are seeking a new Trustee to help us to administer the Almshouse.
The Almshouse was founded in 1808 and provides accommodation in 6 flats for people who qualify under the Trust Deed. Residents have to be capable of living independently and the responsibilities of the Trustees are limited to ensuring that the building and Trust requirements are maintained.
The commitment is to attend Trustee meetings (usually 3 a year), to decide policy and finance matters, and occasionally attend the premises, for instance to inspect the fabric of the building.
Ideally we need somebody who lives in the village who is able to attend and contribute to the meetings constructively. No previous experience is required. The role is unpaid.
