This Sunday (13 September) is the tenth Emergency Services Show - and this year's event promises to be the biggest and best yet!

As well as bringing together Wiltshire's 'blue light' services, the Show has raised over £115,000 since its inception, with donations being made to good causes that support the work of the emergency services or the event itself.

This year’s Show is being held at its usual site - Hullavington airfield, just off J17 of the M4 near Chippenham - and it will be open between 10am and 4pm.

Tickets can be bought in advance at or on the gate, priced at £6.50 for adults, £3.50 for U16s and U3s get in for free. Please note that transactions on site need to be cash, other than the commercial helicopter flights where card payments can be made, and there is no cash machine provision.

Sunday’s timetable includes:

  • A wingwalking display by the AeroSuperBatics Flying Circus (weather permitting)
  • Police dog displays
  •  A multi-agency road traffic collision simulation
  • Cooker fire demonstrations
  • Bomb disposal display

There will also be:

  • Four helicopters on display - Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Great Western Air Ambulance, the National Police Air Service and Network Rail (subject to operational activity)
  • A wide range of new and vintage emergency vehicles
  • Fire engine and police car rides - and the chance to see the Showground from above, thanks to helicopter rides (weather permitting)
  • Sports car rides with Go Motorsport
  • A fairground and much more

Visitors to the Show will be able to meet with firefighters, police officers, the police and crime commissioner and paramedics, to find out more about the work of the emergency services in Wiltshire and beyond. Many of the charities that work alongside the emergency services will also be in attendance.

Because of the air traffic, visitors are asked NOT to bring drones to the site to take aerial photography. Anyone found using a drone without permission will be asked to leave the Showground.

The Emergency Services Show is organised by volunteers from a number of organisations, including Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service, Wiltshire Police and South Western Ambulance Service, and the committee has recently become a registered charity in its own right. This year’s anniversary Show is supported by a number of businesses, including Vodafone, the Grist Group, Forces War Records and Primetech.

Committee chairman Chris Harvey said: "We can promise the whole family a great day out! Children will love the police car and fire engine rides, the wing walking display should be spectacular, and we have a wide range of exhibits, displays and traders, including many first-time visitors to the Show. This is a unique opportunity to meet your emergency services in a non-emergency setting - so we look forward to seeing you!"
